SnapMenuX is an iOS app that helps users translate and understand text in photos, such as menus, signs, and travel images. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
- Images you choose to capture or import for translation.
- Text, coordinates, translations, explanations, and related processing results generated from those images.
- Account and credential identifiers used to operate free quota, login, purchase restoration, and cloud history.
- Apple Sign in information, such as your Apple account identifier and email address, if you choose to sign in.
- App Store purchase and entitlement information required to verify purchases and restore access.
- Device, security, rate-limit, diagnostics, and log data used to protect the service, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
How We Use Information
- To upload, recognize, translate, explain, and return text from images you submit.
- To provide account credentials, daily usage limits, paid entitlements, purchase verification, and history sync.
- To secure the app and backend, detect misuse, rate-limit excessive requests, and maintain service reliability.
- To respond to support, privacy, deletion, and account-related requests.
- To improve app quality and diagnose technical problems.
Third-Party Services
SnapMenuX may use service providers to operate the app, including cloud storage, database hosting, OCR, AI translation, app hosting, Apple Sign in, Apple App Store purchase verification, DeviceCheck, and App Attest. These providers process information only as needed to deliver, secure, and maintain the service.
Image Processing and Retention
Images are uploaded only when you choose to translate them. The app prepares images before upload to reduce size. Temporary and non-subscriber backend records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for processing, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and short-term service operation. Apple-authenticated and paid users may receive cloud history and restore features, which can retain uploaded images, OCR results, AI results, and job metadata until the user deletes them or requests deletion. Signed-in users can delete account data from Settings under Account & Data. Deletion removes account-owned cloud history content and uploaded images. We retain only minimal App Store purchase audit records after removing direct account identity from those records.
Local Data
SnapMenuX may store translation history, cached images, settings, and credential data on your device. Signing out keeps local Apple-scoped history on the device. Using Delete Account & Data removes signed-in local history and cached images for that account. You can also remove local app data by deleting the app from your device.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not share your information for third-party advertising. Information may be shared with service providers, with Apple for login and purchase-related features, when required by law, or when needed to protect users, the app, and the service.
Your Choices
- You decide which images to submit for translation.
- You may use temporary access for free quota where available.
- You may choose whether to sign in with Apple for purchase, restore, and cloud history features.
- If you are signed in with Apple, you can use Settings > Account & Data > Delete Account & Data to delete account-owned server data and signed-in local history.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of server-side personal information by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
SnapMenuX is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries or regions other than where you live, depending on the service providers used to operate SnapMenuX. We take reasonable steps to protect information according to this Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and make the revised policy available at this page.
